It might be better to find the "best" *ix machine you have and use that
as the local master.  Have it run at, say, stratum 8.  Take your next
best machine and have it run at stratum 10.  Take your 3rd best machine
and have it run at stratum 12.

Have all your machines peer with each other.

If your primary goes, the #2 machine will take over and be the leader.

If your primary and secondary machines go, the #3 machine will take over.

If all 3 machines go, your net will slowly go out of sync.
