Yes, that's probably quite good. I was looking for a term which
distinguished between drift (which I would understand as a long-term
reasonable uniform movement), and the random offset from the drift
component. I got a little stuck with drift, though, as one quite often
refers to both short-tem drift (which might be over a second, minute or
hours depending on context, perhaps caused by temperature), and long term
drift (which might be a day, month or year),and perhaps was caused by
crystal aging.
Hornet's nest of terms!
