I'm sorry to hear that. I couldn't find it as a resource kit download
for Windows 2000 either. However, there should be a serialpps.reg
file in the .zip you downloaded containing:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Serial]
"ImagePath"=hex(2):73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,33,00,32,00,5c,
00,44,00,\
  52,00,49,00,56,00,45,00,52,00,53,00,5c,
00,73,00,65,00,72,00,69,00,61,00,6c,\
  00,70,00,70,00,73,00,2e,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,00,00

That is a long way of saying ImagePath=system32\drivers\serialpps.sys
and should accomplish the same thing as the reg command in the
installation batch file. Double-click on the .reg file and allow it
to be applied, reboot, and with any luck you'll be in business.
