The actual log files depend on the exact variant of Unix and are
configurable. By default, some syslog events are not logged at all, and
some may go to other files.

However, this is all Unix Junior System Administration 101, and the
existence of syslogd ought to be well known to anyone trying to install
ntpd on a Unix-like system.
