Ron: Spinrite. Good stuff. Mr G did good with that, thankfully for
the rest of us. If I've not got my CD with me, I always have the .iso
file on a stick somewhere, and yes, it's got me out of trouble in the
past, with much newer hardware!
Terje: Good call, saving capable hardware with "Real" serial ports!
I have an old (but healthy) Compaq desktop at work, that I'll be using
for a FreeBSD based FTP server sometime soon, replacing the current
windows based server. I'd run a local GPSD-NTP server on it too, but I
can't get a GPS cable in from outside due to building owners
restrictions. So, I'll just have it working from the Pool I think.
