AFAIK they will still ship ntpd as well. You can pretty easily uninstall
chrony and install ntpd if that is what you desire. You have to set up
lots of other stuff on your systems anyway. And this default is way way
down on the list of problems in comparison to  Redhat defaulting to systemd:-)
