 To revisit this:
poll interval is still stuck at 64s even though I have the following
conf file (which predates the startup of ntpd):

"# Limit network machines to time queries only

restrict default kod nomodify notrap nopeer noquery
restrict -6 default kod nomodify notrap nopeer noquery

# localhost is unrestricted
restrict 127.0.0.1
restrict -6 ::1

disable monitor

server time.euro.apple.com iburst
minpoll 10
"

     remote refid st t when poll reach delay offset
     jitter
==============================================================================
*uklon5-ntp-001. .GPSs.           1 u    2   64  377   22.285    0.874
0.108
