Hello Richard, the good new is that NMEA is not the only driver -- zyfer,
oncore, jupiter, all are affected to some degree. It depends on the receiver
firmware, of course.  We/I have a fix pending for those (bugs 3576,3577, and
then some) but we wait for the Jupiter maintainer to do some tests for this.

The bad news is that we have not got any feedback for some weeks. Months now,
actually.

I will upload a patch here that implements the core functionality to deal with
this problem (different receivers have shifted eras, and roll at other times
than the actual GPS era switch) and that includes the NMEA driver.

If you're willing to give it a try -- it will be in 4.2.8p14 anyway, but it
would be nice to have some feedback before.
