I just encountered this bug but found the change as in "additional comments #4"
to be insufficient in my situation on Fedora Core 1.  I tested on the tarball
ntp-dev-4.2.0a-20041013 which has the fix described in #4.

I found I needed 300 pages to avoid the segfault rather than 50, but how do you
know what a safe number will be in general?
