Don't use ntpdate on your servers. You should be using ntpd to discipline your
clocks. The poll timed out, presumably because you have a firewall in the way,
though you don't provide enough information on this.
ntpdate is deprecated in any case. Use ntpd -g (or ntpd -gq if you want to quit
immediately after it sets the clock0.
