Okay, looking at the core you sent me and trace back, it is pretty clear that 
you are experiencing bug 527 which the NTP corps is already mobilized against.
I think it is marked as a security bug, so you may not be able to see it, but
rest assured that we are all over it. To not much avail at this point, alas, 
but we are definitely focused on it.
