Graham,

By my read:

- you reported a problem with ntp-stable (4.2.0).
- I asked you to try ntp-dev(comment #1)
- you replied in comment #2:
- - scenario 1 behaves correctly and adjusts the freq
- - scenario 2 corrects the polling freqency
- - scenario 3 polls as you expect and sets the time as you expect

Therefore I read that while ntp-dev may not behave identically to ntp-stable,
it does behave "correctly" and therefore while your report identifies a
problem with ntp-stable, it is fixed with ntp-dev, and therefore this bug
is INVALID.

Do you agree or not?

If you believe there is still a problem, I do not understand from your
description what the problem still is.
