Daniel,

If you look in /usr/include/sys/socket.h you will see __ss_family in the
sockaddr_storage member.  For some reason your compiler is not finding it.

I do not know where gcc-3.4.6 came from on that machine - I have access
to the box for compilation purposes, but that is all.

I found a gcc-4.1.1 compiler on another AIX5.3 box and I am trying a build
now.  It looks like it will take a while.

If anybody else has suggestions, please chime in.
