Harlan,

I have reopened the bug because the uintptr_t declaration is still missing 
under Windows. This has been the original problem which is described in comment 
#1. I think Bruce has to fix this.

On one of my Linux machines it doesn't compile right now either since there are 
global libopts installed with libs in /usr/lib and headers 
in /usr/include/autoopts. However, I see now an error saying:

#error option template version mismatches autoopts/options.h header

This is good, but the build environment should be such that the local 
autoopts/options.h should be included preferably. I've not yet checked whether 
the compiler command line is currently correct, or not, or whether the problem 
is just due to the version of autogen I have currently installed on that 
machine, or something else. I'm afraid I won't be able to go deeper into this 
before next Monday.
