Paul,

Your effort to repair and refine HTML pages is highly appreciated; 
however, due to my eyesight limitations and hundreds and hundreds of 
hours building and refining the documentation, I have evolved tools and 
habits peculiar to my needs. I am victim of Adobe GoLive in syntax 
checking, link checking and source formatting. I do often change the 
text size for editing, which can do evil things when line wrapping and 
window width don't match. I haven't checked if diff has a line length 
restriction, but if all paragraphs are formatted as a single line this 
shouldn't matter.

I have selected the 4.0 transitional format checking for GoLive. I don't 
think it makes much sense in changing the syntax unless the entire 
document set is updated to be fully compliant with current practice.
