You should only be running an ntp server on the VMware layer. You should never
run it on the individual Virtual Machines no matter what the operating system.
The various O/S's get their clock from the underlying VMware layer. To do
anything else would mean that each virtual machine would be trying to pull the
clock in different directions at the same time(assuming that VMware allowed them
to change the clock in the first place). You can imagine the results.
