We do not anticipate any more 4.2.4-based releases of the NTP reference 
implementation.  Please consider trying 4.2.6 -- if you find problems with it, we 
are actively maintaining it.

If you stay with an older version because that is what your OS provides, perhaps 
the OS supplier can help you debug that version or update to 4.2.6.
