Using NTP_ as a prefix discriminator won't do it either; folks have
kernels and things that already do PPS and have hooks for APIs to let
ntpd set/query the clock. It is reasonable to expect that the
maintainers of those kernels and APIs and stuff will use NTP_ as a
prefix for that work.

Speaking for myself, I would much rather avoid the extra typing.

I would also guess that Dave would rather not read all of those extra
NTP_ bits in front of everything.

Regardless (or perhaps independent) of this, I am planning to get 4.2.1
started on its release candidate cycle Real Soon Now, and I plan to have
4.2.2 on its release candidate cycle 6 months after that.

I plan to do the GNU AutoGen/AutoOpts conversion for 4.2.2. The first
thing that will do for us is clean up the command-line processing.

It will also give us the opportunity to generate man pages based on the
command-line options.

Finally, it will also give us the OPTION (assuming Dave is open to it)
to seriously clean up the keyword processing, including all of these
CONFIG_* options, and the CS_ ones, and the CTL_ and CP_ and ...
