[ntp:hackers] ntp ipv6 windows - does it work ? (sorry but 'hackers' rejected me)

Dave,

And I applaud your policy, Dave.

I will point out that:

- the lists are not based on ntp.org
- the lists are not on any machines you own or control
- the lists are not on any machine UDel owns or controls
- *no* email for ntp.org is handled on any ntp.org or UDel machine

And what exactly is the alleged restriction of which you speak? I do not
see any evidence of it from the email you forwarded below. And since
neither you nor I are the listmaster/postmaster, neither one of us has
any business getting involved in the matter at this time.

If you mean that you intend that *anybody* can post *anything* to the
NTP lists at any time without restriction, then while you are entitled
to that opinion you are flat out wrong and this is why the lists were
long ago separated from both UDel and your control.

If you *want* to have lists like that created and maintained, goferit.
We will break the convenience of redirecting <listname>@ntp.org to
<listname>@ilsts.ntp.org, and you can deal with mailing lists for
@ntp.org and we will deal with mailing lists @lists.ntp.org . The
subscribers can decide for themselves which set of lists they wish to
read.

You own the ntp.org domain and as you have so keenly noticed you can
certainly wield Supreme Executive Power *once*. I submit you have
better things to do than continue to allow yourself to be distracted by
things like this with so little tactical information. I'm also
surprised and disappointed that you have forgotten our earlier (intense)
discussions and agreements about these matters.

If somebody contacts you about any ntp.org email matter tell them to
submit a request to postmaster at ntp.org or listmaster at lists.ntp.org and
then let go. We all went thru dances like this before and I thought you
and I had a clear understanding on this point.

To reiterate the guts of the agreement, we stay out of your hair and you
stay out of our hair.

ntp_loopfilter.c and ntp_proto.c is "your hair". If you want
ntp_crypto.c added to that list we need to put a comment in the top of
that file.

Mailing lists and their management and operation is "our hair".

Steve, please *READ* the rejection notice you got, and if you have any
questions about it then forward the rejection notice and your
question(s) to listmaster at lists.ntp.org and refrain from bothering Dave
with these issues.
