Hi all,
I read somewhere on the list that judging abuse was everybody's own
choice.
After a few weeks on the pool, I realize that what I came up often
on the list was true, a very small percentage of clients are using
most of the resources.
So, I just set up the following rule on my pool server :
In the ntpdc -nc monlist context :
if [ count > 500 ] && [ avgint < 60 ]
then
start dropping packets
end
I do not used kiss of death.
So far, I see no noticeable raise in received packets due to some
kind of client burst phenomenon. So dropping the packets seems to save in
the upload bandwidth with no extra-charge on the download bandwidth.
Comments are welcome,
Louis
