[time] Worried newbie - odd graphs?

Just a thought.  When I first started using the Debian stock kernels
on a dual Opteron machine I found that 'ping' times always came back
as an integer multiple of 4 milliseconds.  After much messing about,
it appeared that booting with "clock=tsc" in the kernel command line
fixed that problem.  I don't know if this might cause other problems
but I've seen none in the year since I did it.  It isn't a time server
so I don't worry about it much anyway. :)
