Hi,
My ntpd was working with 5.2.1 but stopped working all the sudden
with 5.3. When I start ntp with
/usr/sbin/ntpd -p /var/run/ntpd.pid -f /var/db/ntpd.drift

My /etc/ntp.conf is
# ntpd will use syslog() if logfile is not defined
#logfile /var/log/ntpd

driftfile /var/log/ntp/ntp.drift
statsdir /var/log/ntp/ntpstats/

statistics loopstats peerstats clockstats
filegen loopstats file loopstats type day enable
filegen peerstats file peerstats type day enable
filegen clockstats file clockstats type day enable

server montpelier.caltech.edu
server clock.via.net
server ntp-cup.external.hp.com
server usno.pa-x.dec.com
-----------------------------------------------
My netstat -an shows it is bound to port 123 on my internal, external,
and loopback interfaces.

Error in messages is:

ntpd 4.2.0-a Wed Nov 10 12:05:13 PST 2004 (1)
Nov 16 14:16:25 crux ntpd[65268]: no IPv6 interfaces found

addr 0.0.0.0, in_classd=0 flags=8 fails: Address already in use

thanks
