OK, so it waits -d/-c seconds.  From -c having a minimum of 1 and -d
having to be more than twice -d, I get that the minimum timeout is 3
seconds.  Right?  I really don't want to put such a long timeout in a
boot sequence that's already painfully long.  Any thoughts?
