It happens with a connection that is not pppd, so it is net the same 
situation. Pppd is not so difficult as it runs a script every times it 
connescts. It's a reaosanble workaround, but not a very good one...

How should I test if ntpd is seeing any server?. This would be even 
better than testing IP changes.
