As a device for running gps applications (usually via gpsd, see
http://gpsd.berlios.de/): quite well. Serial-over-bluetooth works for me
(accessing a telephone).

As a device for ntp time synchronisation: I'm not so sure. I don't know how
predictable the timing of serial-over-bluetooth is.
