Danny is in the final stages of getting this problem fixed, and
my understanding is that it's going to work the same way on all
platforms. This has been a difficult bug to crack, in part because
we've got issues on platforms that we're not that experienced with,
and some of those platforms do some pretty whacky (and unexpected)
things.
But unless you're involved in the actual fixing of the bug,
there's no point in your pontificating on what should or should not
be done. Work with Danny to get this issue resolved, or at least let
him be the one to say what is or is not going to happen. If you
disagree with the way he says that things will be done, then you
would have a valid point to discuss.
Until then, this is all a pointless tempest in a teapot, created
by a bunch of people who can yammer on all night long, but who
otherwise have no involvement in the actual fixing of the bug.
