NTP 4.2.2 Released By The NTP Project

Redwood City, CA - June 8, 2006 - The NTP Public Services Project
(http://ntp.isc.org) is pleased to announce the release of NTP Reference
Implementation version 4.2.2 from the NTP Project.

This is primarily a bug fix and minor enhancements release.  Important
new features include:

	* An operational SNTP client
	* Implementation of the current "goal state" of NTPv4
	* Autokey improvements
	* Improved IPv6 support
	* Multicast mode now works on more platforms. Please see
	  http://ntp.isc.org/Dev/MulticastStatus for more information
	* New version numbering scheme

This release is available from the NTP Public Services Project download

NTP (Network Time Protocol) is a protocol designed to synchronize
the clocks of computers over a network. NTP version 3 is an internet
draft standard, formalized in RFC 1305. NTP version 4 is a significant
revision of the NTP standard, and is the current development version,
but has not been formalized in an RFC. Simple NTP (SNTP) version 4 is
described in RFC 4330.
