Simply put, the oscillator is connected to the rest of the system with
two or three solder spots. Chisel off the oscillator and solder two
feet bits of wire to those spots instead. If that doesn't reach the
next casing over, use three feet of wire.

So obvious it can be hard to think of, especially since it's something
I'd never do.
