[ntp:questions] "ntpd -q" is slow compared to ntpdate

Rick,

ntpdate has been broken for a long time and nobody would step up to fix it.

There seem to be two sets of folks who wanted to use ntpdate, those who
wanted the time to be set "well" and those who wanted to set the time
"quickly".

ntpd can set the time well, and sntp can set the time quickly.

See http://support.ntp.org/bin/view/Dev/DeprecatingNtpdate for more
information.
