Synchronization to the Internet is probably fine, but you should select
your own servers manually and not leave this decision to the pool.

The pool is nice for home users who want zero-config timesync, but it
is not for a professional network at a bank.  There you want to know
if you are syncing to something reliable (e.g. the bureau of standards
in your country) or a hobbyist system that may leave tomorrow or may
actually be a virtual machine in the hands of someone who does not know
how to keep reasonable time on virtual machines....
