The version string is _NOT_ major.minor.increment(patch), it is actually
protocol_version.major.minor(increment)

4.2.2p1 == NTP protocol-4 v2.2.1

4.2.6p4 == NTP protocol-4 v2.6.4

There _have_ been significant changes between these two releases.
Versions prior to "4.2.6*" are no longer maintained by the NTP Project.
