They key is that a GPS which can track multiple reflections of each sat 
signal might, at least in theory, be able to use a reflected signal for 
a short while when the primary (direct beam) is temporarily blocked.

Doing this would allow said gps to estimate the extra delay of the 
secondary paths, and still use them to improve the fix, or to just get a 
fix when in a complicated environment with too few directly visible sats.
