Based on your missive, I moved my BU-353 a few feet south and a few inches
up, 
and increased the signal strength by about half.  I used to have it attached

to the ceiling (of my bedroom) with duct tape and thumb tacks.  Now it is 
wedged between a piece of lath and the actual physical (tar paper)
roof.  But it is happier that way.  Could you try something similar in your
building?
