Hello All,
Referred the details given in
http://bugs.ntp.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2855  &
http://lists.ntp.org/pipermail/bk-ntp-stable-send/2015-June/000690.html
 for the ntpd implementation with "leapsmear" patch ( for non public
servers)

I have configured two centos-7 machines one as ntp-server and one as
ntp-client:
Precisely followed the steps given in the above link:
got the latest dev source 4.3.72 (dev version) and used ./configure with
--enable-leap-smear as described for the server machine, but could not test
the  leap smear behavior :

problem: "leapsmearoffset" never changes (always 0) , even though
smearinterval is large enough anything wrong with configuration

this is my "server" centos-machine ntp.conf:
------------------------------------------------------------------
server lrk0090  # take time from a non-smearing server
leapsmearinterval 14400 #4 hrs ( but give a smearing time to ur clients)
logfile /var/log/ntp.log
server 127.127.1.0 # fallback
fudge 127.127.1.0 startum 12
**********************************************************
 client ntp.conf has regular configuration(nothing special w.r.to smear)
  and takes the only server as server above ( client anyway is unaware of
any leap smearing)

server centos 7:> ntpq -c rv

ntpq> rv 0

clk_jitter=10.040, clk_wander=1.133, leapsmearinterval=14400,

leapsmearoffset=0.000
 the leapflag is 00 ( and no leap second added ?)

please let me know if anything wrong with my configuration

thanks,
Shyam
