Dave,
         The reason that I raised this is I don't know if the problem is due
to DNS lookup issues which would be specific to UDel's IPv6 addresses
or it's really something in the code. As you noted it used to work. There
are two possible ways that could cause this: the ntpd code itself or
name resolution is failing and returning either the wrong info or none
at all. I don't think I changed the findbcastinter() code at all, but I'd have
to check.
