[ntp:hackers] Cell phones make pretty good timetellers

Guys,

The backroom has sprouted a EndRun Cntp CDMA time server. It runs off
the local cell towers and does a pretty good job. I don't want it used
outside the backroom wire, but you might get a chuckle by strafing
128.4.2.2. It runs 4.1.1 unfortunately, but seems to have all the bells
and toots, including ntpq and ntpdc. But, the ugliest thing of all is
that it runs on an embedded process running Linux.

Newsflash: Old wart mizbeaver.udel.edu has been replaced with a new
Symmetricom GPS NTP-200 doing well. The other Symmetricom public server
operated by the campus IT is to be replaced by a donated Spectracom GPS.

Dave
