[ntp:hackers] GPS weirdness with ntp-dev-4.2.0a-200503xx

Danny,

The various machines here are not dedicated to NTP. I have other
research agendae as well. There are times, especially now, when it is
important that changes be made that have nothing to do with NTP. The
recent upgrade to Solaris 10 was necessary for reasons unrelated to NTP
and such changes are very likely to occur in future without prior
notice. As it is, the file handles on all machines that mounted pogo
became stale and as the natural result required rebooting each one. I
have done that and now your various agendae should be well. This was a
trial case; we have about 250 other Sunses that are to be upgraded as well.

Our other Solariba, including the backroom tribe, are to be upgraded as
well. The staff here cannot give me a specific time/date when this will
happen. I must carry each Solaris machine to campus for upgrade, which
means one or another of the backroom flock will be down for a day or
two. I have no schedule for that; it will happen when it will happen.
