Good suggestion, David.  Alternatively, a bunch of websites I'm seeing
simply use the literal character µ in the source HTML.  For example:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Micro-

Using the Symbol font seems the least effective to render a micro
symbol or visually identical Greek letter.
