	The Garmin GPS 18LVC is a reasonably inexpensive model, and 
happens to also be reasonably well-designed for time service. 
Unfortunately, most inexpensive GPS units are not.

	You may have been unlucky to get a GPS unit that is not 
well-suited to your desired task.
