	The OP *did* ask the question on cptn.  Try looking at your headers again.

	That assumes that there is NMEA support within the GPS hardware, 
and that the device gives adequate priority to servicing it.  Most 
GPS devices don't do that, at least not with the accuracy required 
for good timekeeping.
