That's nonsense. You will have potentially big swings and even backwards
steps with that poorly thought-out strategy. ntpd used continuously on
tne client disciplines the clock and smooths out the clock and keeps the
frequency such that it will keep good time. Testing existing time
provides you with nothing except more logs which will be ignored at
best. Disciplining the clock is what you need to be doing.
