I seem to recall that those files are, or can be, generated on a daily
basis. You can turn off generation entirely or schedule a batch job to
run every "X" days or hours and clean up any files that are no longer
needed.
If you don't need them turn them off. If you do need them, create a
batch job to clean up at whatever interval seems reasonable.
